All-electric operation assures safety and a green footprint.

Cambridge, Ontario — In the past, there were no practical choices for consumers who, due to location, were not permitted to grill with gas or charcoal. The same could be said for those concerned about safety and pollution, or who just wanted a fool-proof way to grill. Now, Dimplex North America Limited has eliminated those concerns with the launch of the PowerChef TBQ electric grill. Although compact enough for a balcony, the TBQ is powerful and large enough to cook for a family. The TBQ plugs into a standard electrical outlet, the cleanest and safest energy source for cooking. Easy-to-use automatic controls simplify the cooking process to provide mouth-watering results every time.
“We designed the PowerChef TBQ to be the electric grill that has everything,” says Colin Stewart, Director of Design for Dimplex, “We gave it a stylish modern appeal, powerful cooking performance and pre-programmed controls so anyone can cook great meals without any guesswork. And of course, because it’s electric, it’s not only balcony-friendly but has a very small carbon footprint as well.”
Thanks to its electric operation, the TBQ Electric Grill requires no propane tanks and uses no open flames to cook, making it safe and worry-free for people who are intimidated by traditional grilling. Its unique EvenSear dual element cooking system (patent pending) reaches 650°F to sear food and lock in flavor, while providing precise, even heat for the rest of the cooking process. The entire grilling surface heats evenly, eliminating cold spots and flare-ups and making every square inch useable. This means that the TBQ can easily cook for six people.
In automatic cooking mode, users select the type of food they are grilling, the thickness of the cut and the degree of doneness desired on the TBQ’s electronic touch pad control panel. Then the TBQ takes over. It tells the user when to place the food, when to flip and when to serve for perfectly cooked food every time.
“We factored all the practical concerns into our design,” adds Stewart, “so we chose a durable matte black finish with gloss black accents to retain the striking appearance over time. We added a large removable drip tray to make cleaning a breeze. And, for those experienced BBQ pros, we’ve built in a manual cooking mode that gives them all the control they would like. And, you don’t have to live in an apartment to appreciate the benefits of the TBQ. Many homeowners are anxious about cooking with an open flame or keeping a flammable gas close to their house. They also dislike the inconvenience of running out of fuel or having to struggle with heavy tanks. With its electric operation, the TBQ eliminates all of those concerns.”
A complete line of useful optional accessories is available for the TBQ, including an LED light, a hot dog roller, skillet and grill cover.
